How to get Chelsea tickets as an American

By Christian ·

Prices checked 18 Oct 2026. Dollar amounts are converted at about $1.33 to the pound, so they'll move a bit.

I've lived in the UK for six years, and I get asked this more than anything else. A friend back home wants to see Chelsea, figures it works like an NFL, NBA or MLB game, opens the website, and gets lost about two minutes later.

It doesn't work like that. Over here you can't just pick a seat and pay. Most home tickets go to members first, and even members are entered into a draw. Honestly, I've been lucky. Most of the games I've been to were thanks to friends over here who are members and had a spare seat. That's great when it happens, but most people visiting from the US don't have a mate in London with a membership, and even when you do, there isn't always a ticket going. So I went through the club's 2026/27 rules properly, and this is what I tell people who don't have that option.

If you've already booked flights

Then you need hospitality. It's the only way in that doesn't come down to luck, and you don't need a membership. It isn't cheap. The cheapest package starts at around $375 a person, and the top end costs well over $1,600.

If you're buying from the US, the club lists only two official sellers outside the UK, Champions Travel and Travel Connection. I haven't booked with either one myself. I'm only telling you they're the names Chelsea itself points to, so if anyone else claims to sell "official" packages, look again.

If your dates are flexible and you want to pay normal prices

You'll need a membership. True Blue is about $80, and CFC Blue is about $60 and gets you in one phase later. Roughly six weeks before each home game, members apply and the club runs a random draw. Normal tickets cost about $37 to $105.

The catch is that the big games are close to impossible for a new member, and some fixtures need loyalty points you mostly earn by going to games. Your real chance is the less glamorous fixtures: midweek games, smaller opponents, that sort of thing.

There's also the Ticket Exchange, where members can buy seats that season-ticket holders can't use, at face value. It stays open until three hours before kick-off, so people who keep checking on matchday morning do get lucky sometimes.

If you're planning a whole season ahead

Chelsea in America is the club's official US supporters club, and it can request tickets for its members. You need a Chelsea membership too, plus a spot on their roster. This season's deadline passed on 27 September, so that's one for next year.

Please don't use StubHub

I know it's what you'd do back home. Here it can go badly wrong. In April a fan flew over from the US for the Man United game and got turned away at the gate with StubHub tickets. Chelsea says it threw out 1,393 people with touted tickets in a single season and cancelled 2,740 accounts. Reselling football tickets without permission is also a criminal offence in England. You don't want to cross the Atlantic and end up watching from a pub across the road.

If none of that works out

Do the stadium tour. It's about $45 if you book ahead, but it doesn't run on matchdays. Then find somewhere to watch the game nearby. Some pubs near the ground check for match tickets on the door, so pick one a little further away.
